i turned 21 the other day, and amidst the weekend of celebrating, i took a moment to do something i enjoy quite a bit— sharing a table with a few good friends. lu and i set out one morning for the farmer’s market, and chatted with a man about the pastel eggs we were purchasing from him, got a sizable butternut and some fresh greens before dashing inside a nearby bagel shop as a storm took over the skies. we watched as sheets of water covered the street and pools formed, then set out for the grocery for the rest of the ingredients. its amazing how just slowly filling a basket with what we needed was satisfactory and calming to both lu and i, and the meal that resulted likewise. just girls, some wine and cheese to start and excellent conversation.
